Maths topics

These pages are available in English and Italian; the application itself is currently in English.

MathButFun organises its exercises by the kind of number a child is working with.

Three number types are available today, with more to come. Each one lets you choose one or more of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, or a random mix of them.

The exercise types available

  • Integers — arithmetic with whole numbers.
  • Fractions — arithmetic with numerators and denominators.
  • Decimals — arithmetic with a decimal point.

Parameters

  • One or more operations, as you choose.
  • The number of digits in the first and second operand, from 1 to 3 or random.
  • The test length, from 1 to 15 questions.
  • The time limit, set in minutes and seconds.
  • Answers typed on the keypad, or chosen from several options.

Why the types stay separate

Each exercise type keeps its own settings independently, so integers can be practised at a different difficulty from fractions or decimals without losing any of the individual configurations.

Progress is recorded per type and per operation too, so confidence in one area does not hide difficulty in another.

What language is the application in?

These in-depth pages are available in English and Italian, but the application in which the exercises are done is currently available in English only.
