MathButFun Puzzles
These pages are available in English and Italian; the application itself is currently in English.
MathButFun Puzzles is a free site of logic puzzles, at puzzles.mathbutfun.com.
It is reached from the Puzzles button on the MathButFun Home page, or directly at its address. It sits next to the arithmetic practice: the aim is not speed but reasoning, one clue at a time.
What it is
A collection of short puzzles, each with its own daily challenge, made to offer a moment of fun while training reasoning and lateral thinking.
Puzzle of the day
Every day, at midnight UTC, each puzzle offers a new game, the same for every player. Each browser plays each puzzle once per day; a finished game stays open, to review the guesses and the hints, until the day ends.
Free and open to everyone
You don't need to create an account: open the page from the Puzzles button on the Home page, or go straight to the site and start playing. Your results aren't saved and we collect no statistics about you: just a technical cookie remembers that you've played, and it is deleted at the end of the day.
A tutor that explains, help always at hand
Every puzzle lets you ask for help to reach the solution. Some, like NumberMind, have a tutor that looks at the guesses already made, helps with the reasoning and guides you step by step towards the best way to the final success. Others, like Magic Square, get you through moments of doubt by placing one cell of the grid in its right position, bringing you gradually closer to the solution.

Do I need a MathButFun account to play?
No. Puzzles is free and needs no registration.
Can I play the same game again?
Each game can be played once per day in the same browser. New games arrive at midnight UTC.
Is my progress saved?
Only for the day, and only in that browser. Games are temporary and no results are kept.
