How MathButFun works

These pages are available in English and Italian; the application itself is currently in English.

MathButFun generates a short arithmetic test from the settings chosen before it starts. There is no fixed worksheet to complete: the questions are produced the moment the test begins.

1. Choose what to practise

Choose an exercise type: Integers, Fractions or Decimals. Each keeps its own settings, so different skills can have different configurations.

2. Configure the test

Select the operations to practise, decide how the operands are formed, choose a number of questions between 1 and 15, and set a time limit in minutes and seconds.

Choose how to answer too: typing on the keypad, or selecting from several options, in which case how many options to show is configurable as well.

A registered user can save default settings for each number type.

3. Practise

The test is generated with the settings active at that moment, saved or not, and played against the clock. Because generation happens at the start of each session, running the same configuration again produces new questions.

4. Review the results

At the end MathButFun shows the score, the accuracy, and every question with the answer given, the correct one and the time taken. For registered users, results are saved into their personal statistics.

5. Challenges, for registered users

A registered user can create a challenge and share it, or join a challenge created by someone else. Challenges are how one same set of questions, with the same parameters, gets played by several people, producing a ranking at the end based on the number of correct answers and the time taken. Challenges can also be exported as a PDF, to be done on paper rather than on the device.

What language is the application in?
